Sri Lanka is the world`s largest producer and exporter of pure Ceylon cinnamon and suppliers have 70% of the global market share.

True and demanded pure cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka and it is also native to Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan grading system divides the cinnamon quills into main four groups:

  • ALBA, less than 6 mm (0.24 in) in diameter
  • Continental, less than 16 mm (0.63 in) in diameter
  • Mexican, less than 19 mm (0.75 in) in diameter
  • Hamburg, less than 32 mm (1.3 in) in diameter

These groups are further divided into specific grades. For example C4, C5, C5 Special, H1.

Any pieces of bark less than 106 mm (4.2 in) long are categorized as quillings. Featherings are the inner bark of twigs and twisted shoots.

Chips are trimmings of quills, outer and inner bark that cannot be separated, or the bark of small twigs.


What kind of packaging would be given at ACRIL TEA?

Uncut long sticks packed with inner Poly liner and covered with Jute Hessian cylindric Bales, weight will be vary as per Customer’s requirement(25Kg – 45Kg).

Broken pieces of varying size of all grades of Cinnamon Quills packed in Poly bags/Jute Bags of each 25Kgs to 50Kgs as per Customer’s requirement..

Quills of various sizes according customer’s requirement could be supplied. It’s usually packed in rubber banded bundles and packed in New Corrugated Cartons not less than 2 ply containing 20Kgs, 25Kgs up to 40Kgs per Carton.

Scraped peel of the inner bark of mature cinnamon shoots joined together by overlaps & the hollow of which has been filled with small pieces of the same peel & thereafter dried first in the sun and then in the shade for curling.

Broken pieces below 200 mm in length and splits of varying sizes of all grades of quills.

Dried un-peelable bark of plantation cinnamon shoots inclusive of the outer bark which has been obtained by heating or scraping the shoots.

Quills cut in difference sizes. Example: 8cm, 12cm, 13cm, 15cm, & 18 cm etc.
