OPA black tea features dark, long, full leaves without tips, similar to OP black tea but with bigger and thicker leaves. Some of the leaves are tightly wound or almost open.

Furthermore, the teacup of this tea grade shows a very light and golden color. The size of tea leaves in the loose-leaf black tea grade varies depending on the tea growing area in Sri Lanka. The bigger loose-leaf tea is produced from the low-grown tea area in Sri Lanka.
